Tinea Pedis or athletes foot can affect the top, bottom, side of the foot and in between the toes. It causes it to become infected creating an appearance of dry, flaking skin with some surrounding redness.
Common Causes:
Weakened immune system, environmental. Fungus generally spreads in places that are dark, moist and warm such as the gym locker room, shower and spa/jacuzzi.
How to Prevent:
Wear sandals in environments that make you more prone to getting infected by fungus, and make sure to dry very well between the toes after showers.
